I have never been one to believe in any type of reincarnation; I’m still not sure if I do. But I have recently had an out of body experience that has me questioning at the very least.

Back when I was 17, I wrote a song due to a very emotional breakup (I have written songs and poems a large portion of my life). I later had a friend put the lyrics to music. It was something I was very proud of and truly helped me develop as a writer (as well as get over the loss).

Today, for no reason at all, I had an internal thought that said “Google that song”. So I did.

I turns out that the lyrics to my song were nearly word for word to a poem written by Lord Byron in 1808! I started having a panic attack about the whole situation because I KNOW and REMEMBER sitting in the floor of my room, piecing the song together. Yet, somehow it was written over 200 years ago.

I have written for most of my life and plagiarism is a horrible sin in my book. I would never have copied someone else’s work. I also know that, when I wrote it, I had not heard of Lord Byron (didn’t learn about him until college).

Most people think I’m a freak when I tell them. But my husband said that it could have something to do with reincarnation or something along those lines. I was in a very deep emotional state when I wrote the song, and the words were helping me express what it was that I was going through.

Is this possible or am I really just loosing it?
