When my niece was around two to three years old, she always loved talking to her imaginary friends. One day, my sister overheard her talking about her “mean mommie.” My sister got curious and asked her why she thought her mommie was mean. To our surprise, my niece replied with a lot of certainty, “Not you!! My mommie with the dark hair… you wouldn’t know… it was before I was an egg cell in your body!!”
This really shocked my sister, and she called me right away to tell me about it. We couldn’t believe what we heard, especially the part about the “egg cell.” We decided to ask her more about it, wondering where she got these ideas from. And you won’t believe it, but she gave us the name of the town and even described the situation in great detail. She even told us the specific house number! It was mind-blowing how much she remembered.
And it wasn’t just her memories that impressed us. Even at just two years old, she somehow taught herself to read. We’d catch her going through the phone book, circling letters like a pro. As she got older, her academic skills only got better, and she turned into a truly gifted student in many subjects. The craziest thing is that she doesn’t even remember any of these past-life memories or her early reading talents now.
It’s both fascinating and confusing to see all this happening in such a young child. It makes us wonder about the mysteries of the human mind and the strange things kids can do. Even though my niece may not remember any of this now, her exceptional abilities continue to amaze us, showing that there’s so much more to a child’s mind than we can imagine.
